Kate Hudson has a simple two-word response for anyone who says she's "too old" to start her music career—and it goes a little something .

The actress, who just celebrated her 45th birthday, remembered being told that her time to become a singer was gone.

“There was someone who said to me—and it kind of jarred me a little—it was when I was in my early 30s, and they basically said, ‘It’s done, it’s passed.

Hudson, who is set to drop her debut album, Glorious, on May 17, revealed that she's been writing music her "whole life," but wasn't ready share it with the world until now.
